A fun way to change up your wardrobe is to pick a few things in your boyfriend’s closet. This is what I did in this article. The pieces are obviously too large, but I actually like that style. I styled everything with a very pink lipstick to make it more feminine.
If there is one piece of clothing that looks effortless and chic it’s the kimono. When I don’t know what to wear I always add a kimono to my outfit and it does the job. I share with you 4 types of kimonos and ways to wear them and of course always on a budget.
Value’s village is always my go-to store when I want to find new clothes, but still don’t want to break my budget. This month, I found numerous items that are pretty original and fun to wear. I share with you my favorites!
Last week I went to a clothing exchange event with one of my friend. She heard of this event on a Facebook group filled with people from Montreal interested in tradings. On the group, a girl proposed an evening of clothes swapping at her appartment. We both went. We each brought clothes that we didn’t wear anymore, but that were still nice looking. I brought 19 pieces. At the girl’s place we were about 12 random women from 16 to 40 years old all strangers to eachother. We divided all the clothes in big piles for every sizes (from XS to XL). Six girls at a time we would go through the piles and choose one item, try it on and if we liked it we kept it and let another person sort through the piles and so on.
The only rule was to get as much pieces as you brought. Since I brought 19 pieces I technically could pick 19, but I only found 7 items I liked.
When you need new clothes or you feel like you lost your style my tip for you is to get a few black/white/grey pieces that are cheap. It’s easy to look fancy and expensive with those colors since they are classics and even the cheap brands can’t ruin a little black dress or a v-neck white t-shirt.
So, I listed a few pieces of clothing that you can get in those shades in very cheap stores or in frips.
Essentials in black, white or grey
Wearing a turtle neck is very in right now. I love the professional look it gives. It’s easy to wear with leggings, skirts, pants and even jeans. I love to match them with bright jewellery and a dark lipstick. This one is from winners for as low as 16$, it’s got a low turtle neck, but the high ones are very nice too.
One pieces are one of my favorite outfit to wear. It looks fancy or casual depending on how you style it. This one from Dynamite is very sexy by being open in the back. I wear it with nothing else since it’s dressy already in my opinion. You could add big silver earings with it or a bunch of wood’s bracelets.
**Tips: It’s way more beautiful to wear this outfit without a bra, I wear silicone stickers on my nipples. It doesn’t move and it looks natural.

Honestly, value village saved me many times. When you have a shopping rage and you know if you just go to a ordinary mall it will cost you hundreds of dollars for a few pieces just head to value’s village. The beauty with that community store is that you can find it anywhere, it’s huge and it’s super cheap. If you don’t mind going through every item there is to find a few perfect pieces just go! When I shop at value village I normally go out of the store with 4 pieces for 30$. I found there many clothes and accessories that are now my favorites (see the pictures for proof). The best surprise at value village is probably the dresses section. Of course it depends the location and the time of the year when you go shopping, but honestly I saw a bunch of times beautiful dresses from very good brands and in perfect state. Don’t be shy to check out the earings too, like you can see in the picture I found amazing jewelleries. Continue reading →
